Conducting polymers, characterised by electrical properties of conductors & mechanical properties of conventional polymers shares an interwoven chemistry. The unique properties of conducting polymers accredit them as an exemplary candidate for opto-electronic and electrochemical applications. The project deals with the preparation of a methylcellulose polyaniline (MC-PANI) that can annihilate limitation of solubility & improve processibility, followed by synthesis of mechanically stable MC-PANI/ CdS composites. Electrochemical characterisations consisting of cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge discharge (GCD) & electrochemical impedence spectroscopy (EIS) and photochemical characterisations are evaluated & compared with respect to pristine PANI
