My research focuses on conducting polymers and electrode materials for aqueous energy storage and electromagnetic shielding. It addresses two persistent limitations of conducting polymers: poor cycling stability and difficult functionalisation.
One line of work covers covalently linked hybrids of polyaniline and heteroatom-doped graphene derivatives, designed to improve the durability of supercapacitor electrodes. The other covers a new family of azo-linked conducting polymers that are easy to synthesise, readily functionalised, and stable over wide potential windows in water.
Across both, I am interested in connecting molecular design with material properties and device performance. This includes structure-property relationships, electrochemical behaviour, and the use of these materials in energy storage and electromagnetic shielding devices.
